SEa Otter Classic
Calling all FWD Patrollers, Family and Friends to provide Sea Otter Classic service at our annual first-aid and course-marshal service at Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey.
Far West Division ski and bike patrols, patrollers and families/friends are invited to team up for first-aid duty and course marshaling for the Sea Otter Classic, April 18–21, 2024 at Laguna Seca Raceway and Ft. Ord National Monument near Monterey/Salinas, CA. This is the USA's largest outdoor biking extravaganza.
Join us for fun and a big Saturday night BBQ at Laguna Seca; prepare to eat and drink well! NSP members camp, FREE, at Ski Patrol Central for a night, two or four, enjoy barbecues, get time to ride their bikes, attend the huge trade show and make new NSP friends!
The Sea Otter Classic features everything from mountain biking, dual slalom, road racing and cross-country - thrills and spills that draw 10,000+ (yes, 10,000) competitors, ranging from avid pro and amateur bikers - and 60,000 spectators. A trade show with 400+ vendors; see: http://www.seaotterclassic.com.
By serving as first-aiders, course marshals and non-medical SAG wagon drivers, the patrollers and friend's volunteer service can earn a share of $6,000 for their patrols (based on numbers of shifts per member patroller or volunteer)!
Patrollers, family and friends are offered no-cost FREE camping right in the Laguna Seca paddock at Ski Patrol Central, FREE admission to the festival, FREE lunch and cool volunteer t-shirt! Motorhomes, camping trailers and tents make for cozy accommodations and all will enjoy the Friday and Saturday night (hosted) NSP barbecues! Make new NSP friends and share your NSP talents for this grand event!
